WHY WE DID THIS?

During the late 80’s we made several Environmental Films (recycling, forestry, waste management...)

While making these films our eyes were opened to see how destructive we are, as humans, to our Environment.

We travelled a lot and decided to film footage of the beauty and the destruction of our surroundings for a music video. It took us 2 years to make the “Dream On” project. “Dream on”  speaks about how people collectively turn a  blind eye to the problem

hoping that someone  somehow will fix it

Now 20 years later mankind is still Dreaming On.... Well, the planet will survive us but will we? We re-visited this  subject matter in the  track “Techgnostic” from our latest 2007  album “Core Values”.

Double Vision "Dream On" (1991)

We funded, produced, composed and directed the music video and released an Extensive Single (the Vinyl is still available in Sarcofagus Shop :).

We donated both the video and single to WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature International). There were no sponsors or funding for this project. It was filmed on 16mm film. For us this was very expensive statement but it also left us with a feeling that we had used our talents for something worthwhile.

This video made the headlines in MTV News (the 1st ever Finnish music project to achieve this) and was extensively aired in MTV Europe and Asia.

The Finnish TV selected “Dream On” as a one of the highlights of the factual news in 1991.

The video was shown in Movie Theatres and was

nominated as one of the best Scandinavian

Movie Theatre Commercials.

In 1991 directors of WWF in Bern, Switzerland

told us that there are plenty of musicians

who would like to work with WWF - but they

were always asking for money!

We were the first ever to just make

something and donate it to them

without any strings attached...

...perhaps the best compliment we have

ever received :)

Can a film change the world? No.... But if

everybody starts to do little things we can

make a difference... So please do

something for your community,

environment, people around you,

if you can...

HOW TO BURN YOUR FENDER STRATOCASTER

IN THE PAST RITCHIE BLACKMORE TRASHED FENDER STRATOCASTERS & JIMI HENDRIX BURNED THEM WITH LIGHTER FLUID.

IN 1991 I WENT ONE STEP FURTHER AND BURNED COMPLETELY A FENDER STRATOCASTER! THIS WAS DONE FOR A MUSIC VIDEO FOR WWF (WORLD WIDE FUND FOR NATURE INTERNATIONAL). THE GUITAR WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A LOW END FENDER BUT DUE TO A MIX UP IN THE GUITAR SHOP WE ENDED UP BURNING AN EXPENSIVE ONE. HERE’S THE RESULT...

We have not forgotten social commentary in our music. Our 2007 album “Core Values” tells about the ever increasing problems in our modern world.

The track “Collateral Damage” is about the war and the destruction and the misery it creates.

Unfortunately people seem to have less time for important issues as the struggle for success takes all our energy.

But there is always hope....?
